对于安装了“沿用”设备的多媒体计算机来说,硬件设备使用的资源——I/O地址、DMA通道或IRQ中断号等发生冲突是常有的事情,而当某些软件也要求使用特定的系统资源时,则冲突更是频频发生。例如,现在有些插卡(如“通视图文接收卡”)和有些软件都要占用IRQ5、IRQ7等中断号,这就与声卡使用的中断号发生冲突。如果用户的计算机安装了包括声卡在内的多种多媒体硬件设备和上述的软件,必然导致冲突的发生;当没有其它中断号可供选用时,解决这种冲突是一般的方法难以胜任的。在这种情况下,一个从根本上解决冲突的方法就是利用WINDOWS 95的新特性之一——多重硬件配置。 多重硬件配置是WINDOWS 95所具有的一个较少为人知的新特性,它的意义在于启动系统时允许用户自行决定启用或不启用某一硬件设备,这就为用户对计算机设备的使用和管理提供了更多的便利,应用在解决系统资源使用冲突方面,效果更为明显。
