洪堡特的语言观特别是语言的“世界观”思想在语言学史上一直都占有重要的地位,他的思想对于文学作品的翻译来说也有重大的启示。洪堡特关于语言差异性和统一性辩证相关的论述无时不体现在文学作品的翻译中,而文学作品的翻译者其实就是在语言差异中寻求统一,利用统一性使差异性得到最好的整合。笔者试图通过莫言小说《酒国》英译本的部分语句做例子,来分析洪堡特语言差异性与统一性的观点,并且揭示了语言差异与统一的本质——“语言是一种世界观”思想在翻译中的体现以及对文学翻译的可借鉴性。
