脉动理论是本世纪初提出来的,最近该理论又得到了进一步的完善和发展,它可以更好地解释构造、岩浆、海平面变化、沉积作用之间的关系,地球的脉动以下列形式表现:火山作用强度、海进—海退升、降旋回、挤压与扩展的交替、地磁场特征的变化等。地球脉动可划分出不同地序次,组成一个分级系统,巨旋回、第一序次旋回、第二序次旋回、第三序次旋回。每一旋回有其自身特征,对应于不同的地质因素,但它们之间又是互相联系的。现代地球开始了新的脉动期,表现为扩张强化、大陆裂谷活化、玄武岩火山作用强化、活动带中挤压作用减弱、上新世发生全球性的海进。
The pulsation theory was put forward at the beginning of this century. Recently, the theory has been further perfected and developed. It can better explain the relationship between tectonics, magmatism, sea level change and sedimentation. The pulsation of the earth is characterized by the following forms : Volcanism intensity, sea-sea-sea rise, descending, compression and expansion alternation, changes in the characteristics of geomagnetic field. Earth’s pulsations can be divided into different order, forming a hierarchical system, giant spin, the first order cycle, the second order cycle, the third order cycle. Each cycle has its own characteristics, corresponding to different geological factors, but they are interrelated. Modern earth began a new period of pulsation, manifested as intensification of expansion, continental rift activation, basaltic volcanism strengthening, weakened activity in the extrusion zone, the Pliocene a global sea.
