The present invention discloses a process for preparing acetic acid in solid form. The process includes at least the step of forming a slurry of solid acid and metal acetate with a solvent. After a predetermined period of time, the solid form of acetic acid is recovered. The present invention also includes the acetic acid solid product produced by the above method. The patent also discloses acetic acid solid product formulations according to the present invention.
