美国文化人类学家玛格丽特?米德从文化传递的方式提出了后象征文化、互象征文化及前象征文化三种文化传递模式。透过这三种文化的内涵来审视儿童生活实质是对儿童与成人关系的审视,后象征文化仍主导着儿童当下的生活,互象征文化则是儿童保有自身文化和生活特征的基础,而后象征文化则提醒成人反思儿童当下的生活,理解和解放儿童,从而促进儿童教育的发展。
American cultural anthropologist Margaret Mead proposed three cultural modes of post-symbolism, cross-symbolism and pre-symbolism from the perspective of cultural transmission. Through examining the essence of children’s life through the connotation of these three cultures, it examines the relationship between children and adults. The post-symbolic culture still dominates children’s current life. Cross-symbolism is the basis for children’s preservation of their cultural and life characteristics. Culture is to remind adults to reflect on children’s current life, to understand and liberate children, so as to promote the development of children’s education.
