U.S.b. et al. reported that upper lung cancer was negatively correlated with the intake of yellow (orange) colored vegetables and vitamin E. They speculated that the balance between food-derived protective substances that reach the lungs through blood circulation and inhaled tobacco carcinogens is more detrimental to the upper leaves, making it easier for smokers to develop lung cancer on the upper leaves.
