[According to Nikkei Industry News] Currently, Japan’s oil industry activation center is working with Japanese auto makers to step up the development of methanol-fueled vehicles and strive to make the methanol vehicle in a short period of practical application. Methanol vehicles manufactured in Japan last year have already started road tests, and a new methanol station has also been set up in Yokohama, Japan. Methanol extracted from natural gas will likely be the fuel of the next century instead of oil. Methanol vehicles in the United States and West Germany and other developed countries have basically reached the practical application. If Japan can solve the problem of exhaust emissions in the test institute, it can enter the road test phase. Last year, Japan produced a total of 12 methanol vehicles, each of which is planned to carry out more than 50,000 km of road tests in Japan’s cold areas, hot areas, mountainous roads and the capital expressway. To check if it is able to maintain the measured performance in the laboratory.
