Harvest is the 2013 new work by British writer Jim Cress. Harvest, as a Gothic novel, draws on the Gothic tradition in terms of theme, figure, environment, plot construction and other aspects, and at the same time incorporates some contemporary Gothic narratives. The novel not only attempts to eliminate the binary duality of sex through the Gothic form, but also through the discourse of the violent discourse of female Gothic violence in “living ghosts” to reveal the essence of self-division of the subject as “home ” and “non-home ” fear Not only to write and reflect on history, but also to write various individual or collective cultural anxieties under contemporary British social conditions, and also to express Klys’ vision of trying to form a community constructivism through remolding the aesthetic discourses of wilderness.
