旅游的本质是对文化的审美过程,在这个过程中,既是文化作为审美客体被审美主体欣赏的过程,也是审美主体参与“创造”体验愉悦的过程,所以审美主体的作用不能忽视,要研究审美主体参与“创造”的特点和内在规律。就草原旅游过程来讲,审美主体有三类,即草原民族自身、旅游者和经营决策者,认识并研究这些审美主体的特点和作用,对于协调各方关系,相互促进各自利益的实现,对于在哲学意义上对文化进行思考具有重要意义。
