在我国几百座城市中,苏州是个“赶超明星”“全能选手”。苏州的发展既快又稳,就像平稳飞驰的磁悬浮列车。人们注意到:苏州的经济腾飞,是在夺得精神文明、社会事业、环境保护等方面大多数国家级先进称号的同时实现的。 作为一个地级市,苏州市的GDP在20多年内超过了除上海、北京、广州、深圳以外的国内所有大城市。2003 年,苏州市的GDP、财政收入、出口总额分别居国内城市第五、六、三位;全年实际利用外资68.1 亿美元,高居全国城市榜首。今天的苏州,不断输出美味的大闸蟹、银鱼;丝绸产量和出口量占全国1/3;笔记本电脑、电脑主机板、显示器、鼠标产量居全国首位;精密机械、精细化工、生物制药、新材料产业的实力,也在国内名列前茅。 更让人赞叹的,是苏州的全面、协调、可持续发展棗放眼姑苏大地,田野赏心悦目,路边花木扶疏,街巷常年洁净。苏州市区和5个县级市均为国家卫生城市、国家环境保护模范城市。久负盛名的苏州古城、古镇、古典园林、苏绣、评弹、昆曲、桃花坞年画,还是那样典雅迷人。

The actually utilized foreign capital of the city was 6.81 billion U.S. dollars, ranking the top among the cities in China. Today’s Suzhou, the continuous export of delicious crabs, whitebait; silk production and exports accounted for 1/3; notebook computers, computer motherboards, monitors, mouse output ranks first in the country; precision machinery, fine chemicals, biopharmaceuticals, new materials The strength of the industry, but also among the best in the country. Even more impressive is the comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development of Suzhou. Looking at the land of Suzhou, the scenery is pleasing to the eye.
