U.S.-India cooperation in space began in the Cold War. At present, space cooperation is one of the four pillars of the United States and India’s strategic partnership and has achieved some success. The United States and India have each taken what they need in space cooperation: the United States has used space cooperation to bring India together to achieve its multiple strategic goals of anti-terrorism, space, geo-security and security. India hopes to enhance its economy and technology through space cooperation with the United States And military strength to realize the dream of its great powers. US-Indian cooperation in space is also based on the common need of ensuring the sustainable use of the space environment and increasing the awareness of the space and the perception of the state of the oceans. However, with the fading of the aura of the strategic partnership between the United States and India, the United States has become more concerned about the technological proliferation in India and is doubtful whether Indian space activities will be controlled by the United States. Therefore, the prospect of U.S.-India’s space cooperation will continue to deepen is not clear.
