美国南方作家尤多拉·韦尔蒂(Eudora Welty,1909-2001)在小说集《金苹果》(The Golden Apples)中,借用神话理念从不同维度阐述了美国南方生活的浮世绘,在特定文化语境中为主题的深度表达提供了可能,有关“身体缺席”、“身体生殖”、“身体嬗变”等隐喻概念依次被纳入其中,展现了作家独特的身体诗学观。本文将身体理论与神话原型相结合,分析主人公金·麦克莱(King Mac Lain)神话意象的身体表征,探讨美国南方男权社会的权力话语模式,观察分析自我压抑的麦克莱如何利用人格双重性对传统文化进行潜意识颠覆,最终以神话语境中的身体嬗变——身体神圣化与世俗化的互动,成功整合了充满“身体焦虑”的双重人格,从而自我拯救达到生命的完整合一。
In his novel The Golden Apples, Eudora Welty (1909-2001), a Southern American author, borrows myths and concepts to explain Ukiyo-e in the South of the United States from different dimensions.
