三明地处福建省西北部,是革命老区。在第二次国内革命战争时期,毛泽东、朱德、周恩来、彭德怀、叶剑英、杨尚昆、陈毅等老一辈无产阶级革命家,曾在这里从事过革命实践。毛泽东率领工农红军两次进入闽西北,为革命的胜利积累了丰富的经验,为三明人民留下了宝贵的精神财富。 Sanming Department of Fujian Province in the northwest, is the old revolutionary base areas. During the period of the Second Revolutionary Civil War, Mao Zedong, Zhu De, Zhou Enlai, Peng Dehuai, Ye Jianying, Yang Shangkun and Chen Yi were among the older proletarian revolutionaries who had engaged in revolutionary practice here.
