在苏联和国外生产实际中,与连续作用的管子电焊机配套工作的可移式切断装置上,广泛使用不同结构的圆盘刀以塑性变形的方法切断管子。这样的切断过程的方法示于下图中。在切断以80米/分的速度实现焊接的管子时,该圆盘刀将经受周期接触载荷的作用,这会降低圆盘刀的寿命,因而在更换切断装置的整套刀具时往往导致上述电焊机停止工作。作用在圆盘刀上的力的大小,与待切断管子的材料、管壁厚度和刀具的径向进给量有关,切断管壁厚度为10~12毫米的管子时,可达30千牛。
