The thesis, taking related concepts of Bel canto-"bel canto","breathing" and "resonance"-as research subject, through reading and analysis of relevant literature and monographs, teases out the history of these concepts, analyzes the essences of them, makes differentiations of them.and elaborates related controversialissues. Specifically, this paper falls into six parts.The first chapter makes a brief introduction of research significance and research status.The second chapter mainly expound on Bel canto’s art entity from three aspects-history, characteristics and technical requirements and commom art carrier and discusses its emergence and development in China.The third chapter firstly elaborates the origin of Bel canto, then carries on the analysis of this concept.The fourth chapter elaborates the related concepts of Bel canto breathing, traces the origins of various breathing methods and explores the controversial issues.The fifth chapter discusses Bel canto resonance. It firstly introduces types and representatives of resonance, then differentiates the relevant resonant concepts from the aspects of science and physical acoustics.The sixth chapter, the conclusion part, summarizes the full thesis.
