Chinese enterprises’going global depends on the going out of the enterprise culture, which is impossible without a good translation. This paper has chosen the enterprise culture promotion material Rejuvenation of Tsingtao Brewery as translation text and discussed the key role of structural shift in Chinese-English translation, including the role of Subject-Predicate Orientated Pattern in subject selecting and the specific translation strategies used in dealing with complex predicates in various kinds of sentences like pivotal sentences, gearing sentences and run-on sentences, in addition, this paper also discusses the key to opening the door of "subject and predicate choice" --word order adjusting. The purpose of those strategies is to render idiomatic expression and avoid "negative transfer" of Chinese sentence structure. The breakthrough point and key to accomplishing good Chinese-English translation is to grasp the gist of Chinese language structure. It is a fixed syntactic character that English sentence must have subject-predicate or subject-predicate-object structure with the predicate changing according to tense, voice and mood. While it makes sense if there were no subject at all in a Chinese sentence and it is also very common that the predicates of some sentences are really difficult to identify. This kind of difference brings quite a lot of challenges in Chinese-English translation. Consequently, to render native-like expressions, the critical point is to handle subject and the predicate skillfully as well as adjust word order efficiently. This report will focus on the choice of subject and predicate, restructuring predicate and how to adjust word order. The first chapter is about the background of the selected material, accounting the motivation of choosing this material; chapter two is a brief account of the translating procedure, summing up the basic strategies and translation difficulties in the process; chapter three is a case study, exploring the skills of structure adjusting; the last chapter is a summary of this translating experiences.
