Since the United Nations advocated "child friendly city (CFC)" in 1996,China also realizes the big changes of childrens living environment and behaviors caused by rapid urbanization.Based on the classification of different types of Changsha old and new coexistence areas,we choose two areas which can represent Changsha typical urban environment (Modern Commercial Office Area +Complete High-rise Residential Area + Old District.) to do a comparative study.Through route tracking and interviews,we try to explore the characteristics of childrens S-H (School-to-Home) route and the play spots,compare the influences of urban spatial designs in old and new area on childrens behavior and thus put forward the feasible optimal measures to maintain childrens space rights under urban renewal process.
