We successfully synthesized the Ba/Ni co-doped KNbO3 ceramics using the standard conventional solidstate reaction method with high cool-pressure technology.From the optical absorption spectrum,the band-gap of KNbO3 can be tuned to 1.18 eV after co-doping,which benefits to the enhancement of the potentially photovoltaic conversion efficiency.Grinberg et al.noted that [KNbO3]1-x[BaNi1/2Nb1/2O3-δ]x solid solutions produce a photocurrent density approximately 50 times larger than that of the classic ferroelectric(Pb,La)(Zr,Ti)O3 material because its band-gap can be tuned to 1.1 eV by chemical doping modification.
