  Ion nitrocarburizing and sulphurizing technology was studied in order to solve effectively scuffing of the diesel engine cylinder.Ion nitrocarburized-sulphurized layer was prepared on the surface of CrMoCu alloy cast iron by means of the technology,and its morphology,structure,tribologicel behaviors under additive with sulphur lubrication,the morphologies and compositions of all the wom surfaces were investigated and analyzed by SRV jiggling friction and wear tester,SEM,· EDS,XRD and XPS respectively.The results show that the thickness of sulphide surface layer of ion nitrocarburized-sulphurized layer is 5 μm,the size of sulphide globular grains distributing equably on its surface is in micron nano-scale.Its phase structure is mainly composed of FeS possessing close-packed hexagonal structure that can make sulphide layer tend to produce plastic deformation through slippage along the close-packed surface and possess friction-reducing and self-lubrication properties,and FeS2 possessing cubic structure.
