With the aging society in China getting increasingly severe,the old workers and their relatives still live in the former and old region around the industrial region closely even after the replacement and relocation of Shenyang Tiexi industrial zone.Changing the living environment of such old residential areas has become an important issue for nowadays urban renewal and Shenyang Tiexi workers village is a typical one with many retired employees who have few childrencompany,live with couples or alone and prefer taking a part in outdoors activities.Taking such an old community as an example,the paper observes the living habits of the retired and semi-retired workers,learns their requirements of surrounding environments and studies the ways to communicate with old people in outdoors activities,which can not only benefit the optimization of the outdoor activity space in old residential areas,but also provide references for the elderly-oriented reconstruction.we take the Tiexi district of Worker Village as an example.Zoning a polygon range in the southwest of the western part and changing the masonry into plastic cement.We will put 2 facilities for three trainers,2 facilities for three people who sit and tread,4 facilities for mutual assistant back massagers,6 facilities for cycling equipment,2 for three people walking machines,4 for double walking machines,and 3 for double seats around the tall tree.In the eastern and northern area of the west part,we are going to set 3 pavilions and every pavilion will have a circling stone table and seats.to link these pavilions with two corridors which have ceiling.The area will be circled by pavilion and corridor in a L shape to limit this area.The new western area of outdoor activities space consists of the body building area,the booth and corridor area,the retained original square area and the central sculpture area.Therefore,the elderoriented reconstruction of Worker Village is able to meet the requirement of the outdoor activities for the elderly in the village,and create favorable conditions for their happy retirement life.
