Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) is associated with adverse developmental outcomes, including preterm delivery, fetal death, teratogenicity, and intra-uterine growth restriction. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of folic acid on LPS-induced teratogenicity. All pregnant mice except controls were intraperitoneally (i.p.) injected with LPS (20 μg/kg) daily from gestational day (GD)8 to GD12.Folic acid was administered in three different modes.
