  The first candidate material for fusion blanket is the reduced-activation ferritic/martensitic(RAFM)steels,such as F82H steel and JLF-1 steel.While,advanced materials,such as oxide-dispersion-strengthened(ODS)steels,vanadium alloys and silicon carbide composites have been developed as alternatives for higher thermal efficiency blanket.The present paper measured thermo physical properties of JLF-1 JOYO heat,9Cr-ODS and 12Cr-ODS steels,and NIFS-HEAT-2 vanadium alloy,which have been developed under corroboration among Japanese universities and National Institute for Fusion Science.In order to discuss application for the first wall of the blanket under one-sided heating condition,thermal stress figure of merit is evaluated from these property data and high-temperature strength data,including data for silicon carbide composites and other low-activation materials.
