Parkinsons disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the loss of dopaminergic neurons in the midbrain and, consequently, depletion of dopamine in the striatum.Due to the characterized pathological change,it is possible to treat the disease when cells that can synthesize and secret dopamine are intracerebrally transplanted. As one kind of adult stem cells existed in skeletal muscle tissue, myoblasts are easy to be isolated and expanded in vitro.More importantly, they can be applied for autotransplantation without immunological rejection. In recent years, many researches have demonstrated that myoblasts are multipotent stem cells.
