  In this study, a water-soluble chitosan derivative, N,O-carboxymethylchitosan (NOCC) has been synthesized.Hyaluronic acid (HA) could evolve into a better cross-linked hydrogel by conjugating with NOCC, using carbodiimide as a cross-linker, therefore decreased the swelling capability and increased the resistance against hyaluronidase degradation of the HA-based hydrogels.
