Effects of Different Heat Exposure Model on HPA axis Activities and Intervention of LBP in Rats

  Introduction: The main characteristic of the heat stress response is activation of hypothalamicpituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, which will promote body to produce cortieotropin releasing hormone (CRH), cortisol (Cor), epinephrine (EPI), and the heat shock protein (HSP) to maintain homeostasis of internal environment.Our previous studies showed that Lyciumbar barum polysaccharides (LBP) can be used as an irnune enhancer to enhance the ability of immune function and anti-trauma, therefore, the objective of this study was to discuss the effect of different heat exposure model on neuroendocrine responses and the intervention of LBP in rats.Method: Male SD rats were divided into five groups: control (CN)、 fixed time (FT)、 fixed time+LBP (FL)、 continued time (CT) and continued time+LBP (CL) group respectively, each groups seven rats.Control group: 24℃、 FT and FL group∶32℃ 6h、 CT and CL group: 32C 24h, underwent two weeks heat exposure.The content of plasma CRH、 Cor、 EPI and HSP70 were detected by using ELISA.Results: The content of CRH、 HSP70 of FL are higher than the FT, the difference were statistically significant (e.g.FL: 4.77 ± 0.59ng/ml vs.133.94±25.73pg/L, FT∶ 3.90±0.27ng/ml vs.198.95 ±72.85pg/L, P<0.05), but the content of liSP70 were not significantly between the CN and CT (e.g.CN: 158.62 ± 60.53pg/L,CT: 177.69 ± 71.62pg/L, CL∶ 160.28 ± 26.19pg/L, respectively); The content of CRH of CT are higher than FT, the difference were statistically significant (e.g.CT∶ 4.28 ± 0.38ng/ml, P < 0.05),and the content of CRI of CL are higher than FL and CN, the difference were statistically significant (e.g.CL: 4.28 ±0.30ng/ml, CN: 3.99± 0.21ng/ml, P<0.05); The content of EPI and Cor were not significantly between the CN、 FT and CT (e.g.CN: 51.73±9.89pg/mi vs.5.59±2.56ng/ml, FT: 51.63 ±5.88pg/m1 vs.5.26± 1.90ng/ml, FL: 48.16± 10.98pg/ml vs.10.35±7.58ng/ml, CT∶ 50.50 ± 5.83pg/ml vs.5.79 ± 2.11 ng/ml, CL: 47.61 ± 14.18pg,/rnl vs.8.34 ± 5.63ng/ml, respectively).Conclusion: Continued time heat exposure could cause a significant increase in the content of CRH and could result in a better adaptive response of the stress of the body.LBP could increase the content of CRH and HSP in the rats of thermal exposure.
