Nanomaterials have all the potentials to become the major structural, electronic and optical components of the 21a century.In order to fully utilize their rich, but yet entirely understood unique characteristics, their physical and chemical properties, in particular, on the individual structure level have to be analyzed prior to the materials smart integration into real technologies.Various informative physical experiments [1] performed by us over the last years inside a high-resolution transmission electron microscope (TEM) using piezo-driven holders will thoroughly be reviewed in this presentation.
