Nanostructured Copper Oxide Functionalized QCM Sensors for Hydrogen Cyanide Gas

  Using nanostructured copper oxide as sensitive material and quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) as detection platform, we developed CuO functionalized QCM sensors and studied their sensing properties towards HCN gas.It was found that the sensors showed high sensitivity, fast response and recovery, and extremely high selectivity to HCN gas as compared to many other interfering gents, such as acetone, ethyl ether, water, n-hexane, benzene, acrylic acid, acetic acid, benzyl alcohol, and ethanol.
