北京首钢设计院首钢高炉喷煤技术起步较早,但三十多年来没有大的发展和进步。2000年11月,首钢建造了新的喷煤系统,该系统采用中速磨制粉,直接喷吹工艺,制粉能力为80t/h,能够满足2号高炉(1726m~3)、3号高炉(2536m~3)喷吹能力200kg/t的要求,目前煤比已达到167kg/t。新喷煤系统由首钢设计院设计,采用了长距离直接喷吹、市袋一级收粉、中速磨煤机、封闭式烟气炉、大倾角胶带饥、自动可调煤粉给料机以及炉前分配器等先进技术。
