In this paper, four kinds of metalloporphyrins (CoTPP, CoTHPP, NiTPP and NiTHPP) were adsorbed on the surface of nitrogen doped anatase TiO2 samples (N-TiO2) produced by deposition-calcination method to prepare MTPP/N-TiO2 and MHTPP/N-TiO2 composite photocatalysts. The XRD and TEM results showed that the crystal structures and morphology of N-TiO2 were not affected by metalloporphyrin on its surface.According to the DRS, spectoral response of the composite photocatalysts sensitized by metalloporphyrin can be extended to the visible light region. The photocatalytic degradation experiments showed that the CoTPP/N-TiO2 and CoTHPP/N-TiO2 composite exhibited higher photocatalytic degradation efficiency than N-TiO2 and N-TiO2 sensitized by NiTPP and NiTHPP under visible light irradiation. The photocatalytic degradations of MB over four composite catalysts were all demonstrated to follow the first-order kinetic mode.
