In spite of the inherent nutritive value and need for enhanced consumption to address global obesity epidemic,there is not enough consumption of vegetables due to perceived poor taste,appeal,and convenience.Significant opportunity exists to integrate advances in science to address the global demands and needs of growers and consumers to design vegetables with improved productivity,shelf-life,convenience,and nutritive value.
