Lithium-rich layered cathode materials, xLi2MnO3-(1-x)LiMO2 (M =Ni, Co, Mn),posses the higher capacity of~250 mAh g-1.Structural rearrangement due to oxygen release at the surface and Li+ extraction from the lattice during the first charging process are considered to be the main reasons for the higher capacity in this material1).
