An abundance of microfibril associated glycoprotein 3-like (MFAP3L) exhibits a significant correlation with the distant metastasis of colorectal cancer (CRC),but the related mechanism has yet to be explored. In this study,we observed that knock-down of MFAP3L resulted in the significant down-regulation of the invasion and hepatic metastasis of colon cancer cells. We further sought to determine the cellular location and biochemical functions of MFAP3L and found that this protein was primarily localized in the nucleus of colon cancer cells and performed the activity of a protein kinase.
