Metal matrix composites reinforced with stiff and strong nanosized particles exhibit improved thermo-mechanical properties compared to the host metal.Recently, discrete dislocation plasticity analyses have been used to study the mechanical response of these materials. The representative volume element (RVE) approach is used in these analyses, in which the effective properties of the bulk material are predicted based on the constitutive laws and spatial distribution of its components.
