猪主要组织相容性复合体(MHC)也叫猪白细胞抗原(SLA),与猪传染性疾病和疫苗引起的免疫应答密切相关.SLA包含3个主要的基因簇(Ⅰ类、Ⅲ类和Ⅱ类).Ⅰ类基因簇包含3个高度多态的经典Ⅰ类基因(SLA-1、SLA-2和SLA-3),形成大量不同的等位基因.SLA Ⅰ类分子的多态性主要集中在α1和α2结构域,二者共同构成抗原肽结合槽.此结合槽是由底部八个折叠层和顶部两个邻近螺旋区组成,且此结合槽可再被分成六个不同的口袋(A-F),决定着T细胞表位结合的特异性,不同等位基因结合不同类型的T细胞表位是由适合SLA-Ⅰ抗原肽结合槽中口袋的氨基酸以及肽段的锚定残基共同决定.
