Autophagy is a highly conserved process for degrading cytoplasmic contents,determines cell survival or death,and regulates the cellular homeostasis.Besides core ATG proteins,a large number of regulators together with various post-translational modifications (PTMs) are also involved in autophagy.In this work,we mainly focused on the curation and integration of experimentally identified proteins regulated in autophagy,whereas known proteins in cell death pathways were also collected for a comparison.Finally,we collected 3,877 proteins that involving in autophagy,apoptosis and necrosis.Subsequently,we computationally identified potential orthologs of known proteins in 148 eukaryotes and found xxx orthologues proteins potentialiy related to cell death.Based on the orthologue genes,we systematically analyzed the evolutionary history of duplication and origin of core ATG genes.
